Job Overview:
The Website and Automation Developer will manage and optimize the BUA Group website and digital platforms to improve user experience, site performance, and workflow automation. You will lead efforts in website maintenance, content automation, SEO, cybersecurity, and integrating third-party tools for efficiency and scalability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and update the company’s website and CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Joomla)
- Automate website tasks like form responses, content uploads, and CRM updates
- Improve website SEO for organic visibility and lead generation
- Troubleshoot bugs, resolve performance issues, and ensure site uptime
- Implement data protection and web security best practices (SSL, firewalls, backups)
- Use tools like Zapier, Python scripts, or Make (Integromat) to automate manual processes
- Integrate APIs for tools like payment systems, CRMs, and analytics dashboards
- Collaborate with HR and Corporate Comms to support internal digital needs
- Analyze site traffic with tools like Google Analytics, Hotjar, and provide regular insights
- Ensure compliance with GDPR, NDPR, and international data policies
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Web Development, Computer Science, or related field
- 3–5 years’ experience in web development, CMS administration, or automation
- Strong grasp of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and back-end scripting (Python, PHP)
- Proven work with automation tools like Zapier, Integromat, Selenium, or custom scripts
- Experience with SEO optimization and analytics/reporting tools
- Knowledge of web security standards, SSL, site backups, and data privacy laws
- Certifications (Google Analytics, HubSpot, AWS, or similar) are a plus
Core Skills:
- Strong debugging and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally with HR, IT, and marketing
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Project management and time prioritization
- Ability to stay updated on the latest web tech and automation trends
