Job Purpose
The Warehouse Officer 1 will work under the supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor and will be responsible for the safe storage, handling, and distribution of humanitarian supplies in line with ICRC’s warehouse management standards. This role requires a detail-oriented and organized professional who can efficiently manage inventory, logistics coordination, and warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities
✔ Receiving & Checking Goods: Ensure that all incoming shipments match delivery notes and report any discrepancies.
✔ Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records by updating bin cards, stock cards, and warehouse documentation.
✔ Storage & Organization: Ensure that goods are properly labeled (expiry dates, batch numbers, manufacturers) and stored systematically.
✔ Packing & Distribution: Oversee the packing, picking, and loading of goods, ensuring smooth dispatch of items.
✔ Temperature Monitoring: Where required, monitor and record temperature levels to ensure safe storage conditions for perishable items.
✔ Supervising Warehouse Activities: Coordinate loaders and day workers to ensure efficient warehouse operations.
✔ Inventory Control: Participate in periodic stock-taking and inventory audits to maintain accurate warehouse records.
✔ Warehouse Maintenance: Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and compliant with ICRC’s safety and risk control measures.
Required Qualifications & Skills
✔ Education: National Diploma (Bachelor’s degree is an asset).
✔ Experience: 2-3 years of experience in logistics, warehouse management, storekeeping, or supply chain administration.
✔ Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and inventory management software.
✔ Language Proficiency: Good verbal and basic written English skills.
✔ Organizational Skills: Strong planning, coordination, and time management skills.
✔ Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accurate records and detect errors.
✔ Teamwork & Communication: Excellent team collaboration skills and the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders.
✔ Work Authorization: Must have a valid permit to work in Nigeria.
