Are you an experienced Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) professional looking for an opportunity to contribute to girls’ education and empowerment in Kenya? The G for Girls Initiative (GGI) is seeking a qualified M&E Consultant to develop and implement a comprehensive M&E framework that will measure the impact and effectiveness of its programs.


About G for Girls Initiative (GGI)


The G for Girls Initiative (GGI) is a Community-Based Organization (CBO) dedicated to creating safe spaces for girls’ education in Kenya. Through mentorship, advocacy campaigns, and community mobilization, GGI works to eliminate barriers such as forced child marriage, teenage pregnancy, menstrual poverty, and gender-blind learning environments.


About the KWEMA Project


The Kwale Education and Mentorship Action (KWEMA) Project is a key GGI initiative focused on advocating for girls’ education in Kwale County, Kenya. The project addresses challenges like low literacy rates, teenage pregnancy, and lack of community awareness through targeted interventions in primary schools, secondary schools, and out-of-school youth programs.


Consultancy Overview


Position: Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Expert


Organization: G for Girls Initiative (GGI)


Location: Hybrid (Remote & On-site)


Duration: 1-year contract (with possible extension)

Scope of Work


The M&E Consultant will be responsible for designing and implementing an effective Monitoring & Evaluation framework that aligns with GGI’s mission. Key tasks include:


1. Developing a Work Plan


Outline the objectives, timeline, and deliverables for the consultancy period.


Provide a structured roadmap for M&E activities.



2. Designing an M&E Framework


Develop a robust Monitoring & Evaluation system with clear indicators, tools, and methodologies.


Establish a data collection and reporting mechanism to track program impact.



3. Creating a Data Collection Plan


Utilize both qualitative and quantitative research methods.


Design tools for survey implementation, field assessments, and stakeholder interviews.



4. Training Staff on M&E Tools


Conduct training sessions for GGI staff and partners on how to use M&E tools effectively.


Build capacity in data analysis, reporting, and program evaluation.



5. Budget Proposal & Financial Planning


Develop a budget proposal for the implementation of the M&E framework.


Ensure cost-effectiveness while maximizing program efficiency.


6. Final M&E Strategy & Reporting

Present a detailed report summarizing findings, challenges, and recommendations.


Develop a sustainability plan for M&E activities beyond the consultancy period.



Key Deliverables


✔ Inception Report – A detailed work plan, methodology, and timeline.

✔ M&E Framework – Indicators, tools, and reporting templates.

✔ Data Collection Strategy – Clear guidelines for data gathering and analysis.

✔ Training Workshops – Sessions for staff on M&E best practices.

✔ Budget Proposal – Estimated costs for executing the M&E framework.

✔ Final Report – Comprehensive findings and strategic recommendations.


Qualifications & Experience Required


✔ 5-10 years of experience in Monitoring & Evaluation, especially in the NGO or education sector.

✔ Proven track record in designing and implementing M&E frameworks.

✔ Strong data analysis, visualization, and reporting skills.

✔ Ability to develop impact measurement indicators and generate actionable insights.

✔ Experience in training teams on M&E tools and methodologies.

✔ Previous work with grassroots organizations, NGOs, government agencies, and donors is an added advantage.

Age requirement: 18-37 years old.

✔ Women candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
