Call for Applications – RISE Urban Challenge 2025
The Resilience Innovation through Scaling Entrepreneurship (RISE) Urban Challenge, launched by the Global Resilience Partnership (GRP), aims to scale innovative urban ideas that address resilience challenges in informal contexts. The initiative provides tailored support, mentorship, and funding to help selected projects achieve sustainable impact.
Who Can Apply?
The challenge is open to:
- Urban entrepreneurs, innovators, organisations, or consortiums in the private sector (start-ups, SMEs), civil society, and grassroots organisations.
- Applicants must be based in low- and middle-income countries.
- Youth-led and women-led organisations are encouraged to apply.
What Do Winners Receive?
- Tailored leadership and mentoring program facilitated by subject matter experts.
- Communication support and access to potential investors.
- Funding up to $50,000 to support scaling and implementation (through December 2026).
Focus Areas
- Projects should address urban resilience challenges in informal contexts, including:
- Climate risk
- Resilience retrofitting
- Water security
- Urban migration and displacement
- Solutions prioritizing women and youth resilience are highly encouraged.
