The Land Resources Division (LRD) focuses on genetic resource conservation, resilient agriculture, biosecurity, and pest management to enhance food security and sustainable land use. As a Communications Officer, you will play a key role in strengthening visibility, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge dissemination within the Genetic Resources Pillar of LRD.
Key Responsibilities of the Communications Officer
✔ Develop and Implement Communication Strategies – Enhance SPC’s visibility through traditional media, digital platforms, and social media.
✔ Content Creation – Write and design press releases, newsletters, reports, and multimedia content to showcase SPC’s impact.
✔ Stakeholder Engagement – Build relationships with government agencies, donors, regional organizations, and media outlets.
✔ Knowledge Management – Collaborate with technical teams to develop and distribute technical briefs, research summaries, and advocacy materials.
✔ Event Coordination – Plan and manage communication-related events, workshops, and outreach campaigns.
Eligibility Criteria – Who Can Apply?
✔ Degree in Communications, Journalism, Media Relations, or a related field.
✔ Minimum 5 years of experience in communications, media, or digital marketing.
✔ Strong social media management, photography, and video production skills.
✔ Experience in crafting communication strategies for development projects.
✔ Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (French is an advantage).
✔ Knowledge of the Pacific region’s agriculture, forestry, and environmental sectors is a plus.
Job Benefits & Compensation
💰 Salary Range: FJD 6,152 – 7,691 per month (USD 2,719 – 3,398).
🏠 Housing Allowance: Between FJD 1,500 – 5,200 per month.
