The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Youth is recruiting volunteer Regional Focal Points (RFPs) for Africa and Asia-Pacific. This is a remote, leadership role for passionate young people aged 18-30, dedicated to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Key Highlights:
• Organization: SDSN Youth is part of the UN SDSN, a global network focused on sustainable development solutions.
• Role Purpose: RFPs act as crucial connectors between SDSN Youth and its regional networks, facilitating collaboration, promoting initiatives, and ensuring SDG alignment.
• Responsibilities: This includes fostering collaboration among Network Coordinators, acting as a liaison with the global structure, providing support and guidance, monitoring and reporting on activities, driving new initiatives, and organizing monthly calls.
• Requirements: Applicants must reside in the relevant region, have experience in youth leadership/project management, be fluent in English, possess basic tech skills, and be committed to 10+ hours/week. A passion for sustainable development is essential.
• Benefits: Though voluntary, the role offers valuable opportunities such as representation at conferences, engagement with stakeholders, publishing opportunities, brand building, training, and cross-cultural experience.
• Practical Details: The position is for an initial 12 months (with a potential extension), with a 3-month trial, and comes with comprehensive training and support. RFPs report to the Global Networks Project Lead and Project Officers.
